What mm size Rim tape?

I have a 29ner MTB which is needed for a rim tape replacement, the rim is 700c-28/38c 622-20

Do you mean what width? As far as I know it generally comes in a standard width...because the spoke holes that it's designed to cover are generally the same size.

I'd use a 22mm width tape. "622-20" is most likely a reference to the width between the bead hooks.
