Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Lemond website

I bought a used 07 Lemond carbon Zurich a few months ago. Shortly thereafter the falling out with Trek occurred and the website came down. I have been eager for the new site ever since. Today I noticed that www.lemondbikes.com is up, but only as a registration page. It looks exactly like the Klein bikes page, and both are owned by Trek. I heard Greg and Trek are in legal dispute, but why would Trek need a registration portal at this juncture? And how does Klein fit in? And where is the new Lemond site, I need my info!

I'm pretty sure Trek will still warranty those bikes. It's still their brand even if they don't sell it any longer.

Is there going to be a new LeMond web site? I.e., is LeMond going to start a new bike company or work with another company to make bikes with his name?

Below is a link to the new Lemond web site:

https://www.greglemond.com/

However, the "Cycles" section appears to still be under construction.

Your LeMond is now a "Gary Fisher" road bike.

I won't engage the LeMond hate as it's been overdone too many times already. I do like his bikes and hope to see them resurrected. The longer toptube and relatively "relaxed" seattube fit my long torsoed body quite well . My Maillot Jaune in Reynolds 853 is sweet but I was looking at a Ti leftover model on eBay the other day and wishing that circumstances had permitted...

If he can get up and running opportunity and the moment will have a better chance of meeting.

That's not new. The Cycles section was taken down a few months ago after the Trek legal trouble. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about a new site because I wanted to research my bike. Guess not.

I'm assuming Trek keeps that site up just to maintain their rights to the domain name.

+1 - they own the brand and they keep the domain as part of it.

I bought a Lemond Buenos Aires from Lakeland Trek in Lakeland, Fl and they have the Lemond specs up on their website along with pictures if that helps.

The current word on the "street" is that Trek is killing Klein completely. They plan to keep the Fisher name and use the Lemond frames with Fisher logos.

I like Lemond, think he has the interests of cycling at heart and that he's pretty fearless.

However, I never tried his bikes. How invested was he in the brand?

That would really suck, as Klein pretty much invented the big-tubed aluminum bike.

I had one of the original CarbonFrames bikes before Lemond bought them. I must say it was quite a technological tour-de-force for its day. The same moulding techniques are now used by Calfee, Trek, Kestrel, etc...
