Tough Riding Conditions after Hurricane Florence

In Wilmington, NC. You have to give the fella credit for trying.......will probably need to relube the chain!!!!

Seriously they have a LOT of flooding and wind damage to recover from.

Yeah, I would have to agree the water is a bit over the top there (literally and figuratively). Maybe stick to the indoor trainer if you have one and its not on the ground floor or basement. Or maybe a unique opportunity to get out that canoe or kyak?

Might be time to bring out the paddle boat. Can you imagine the workout you'd get trying to keep from being swept downstream?!

Not sure I could resist trying to ride in that. i don't own a kayak.

When I lived in the Frozen North it was always a treat to break out the cross-country skis for a tour of the neighborhood. Whenever I get a good hurricane i like to get out in it .... at least when it is close to safe.

This guy is nuts, though. he doesn't have disc brakes.

He's crazy. The floodwaters are filled with nasty chemicals and bacteria. And you never know what hazards might be submerged. And it can't be good for his bike either.

Yeah. And don't forget snakes. Common sense not being exercised.

We have been getting heavy t-storms here in Philly as the remnants of Florence pass by.

His wheel and bottom bracket bearings are going to need some attention along with his drivetrain.

I didn't even think of snakes. (Shudder).

Heavy rains here in Boston too. Flood warnings, but it won't be like that.

Ah...he would be all right if his shorts were not as long. He has sandals on too which is smart he won't have to dry out any shoes.
