Another "Is This A Good Bike" Thread

This was my first year doing Triathlons, and I'm addicted!

I used a road bike this year, but for next year I want to use a Tri bike.
I've never ridden one, or even looked into them, so I'm not very familiar with them or the way they fit. And at this time of year (late Summer) there is not much to choose from.

That being said, a local store has some NOS Looks, 2009 & 2011 576's. They are the same price, at $1900.

Not sure if that is a good price or not, but are they good Tri bikes or not?
Would my money be better spent on a bike from newer model year, like a Giant Trinity Advanced for the same price?
Or should my first Tri bike be used, so that I could spend less money and find out what 'fits' me the best?

The Giant Trinity Advanced has more aggressive T/T geometry than the Look bikes. Keep that in mind. Also, what componentry do the Looks have? The Giant has the latest 105 stuff, which really works well.

I wish i had bought my first bike used. $1900 in the used market gets you a super nice bike.

I believe one was 105's and the other was SRAM Rival's.

Well, not going to make any choices based on componentry then. I think if it were me, it would come down to how comfortable I felt with the more aggressive geometry Giant. If I felt good on it, I'd go with it. If not, and I felt something a tad more relaxed felt better, then one of the Looks might be the way to go. But for the same price, if the new Giant fits and feels right, I'd take it.

Just providing an update (if anyone is interested).
Decided against the LOOK.
Decided on a used P3...
Full carbon, better components, better wheels (two pairs), cheeper price, but used.

Looks Great ! Now get out and ride, ride, and ride some more. I've been on my TT/Tri bike three times this week, can never get enough.

Not mine. I never visit this forum but found this and thought somebody might find it of interest. Looks like a killer deal, if only for the parts. Please let me know if it should be moved to a more suitable thread. I'm also cross-posting in C&V where I usually reside. Thanks!

Is it just me or does that Softride have a ridiculously relaxed angle?

No, just a ridiculously long stem. Not that familiar with soft ride but looks you could make it less relax by moving the saddle forward as there is no seat tube. Also former world champion triathlete Greg Welch used one for a season or two, back in the day.

Cut the stem in half and you'll be in a more aero position, the way it's set up your in the photo your a giant sail sitting upright.

It's not my bike. I was just commenting on the pic posted above...which another poster found online in a for sale forum.
