Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You're going to get flamed. This is old news. In the relative world of the Tour de France, it is EXTREMELY old news.

Which dog incident was it (can't see the photo due to IT dept at work)? Apparently Vino was on the wheel of his team mate the day he lost 28 min and the team mate hit a dog on a leash and took both of them down...which was supposedly part of his huge time loss (but come on not all of it). 2 run ins with dogs in one TdF? I would have thought after the first people woul dhave gotten their crap together...but I guess this one was on a leash.

It's the same old Burqhardt vs. Lab incident. Nothing to see here. I never did get a good explanation for how Vino lost so much time. Sometimes the live Phil&Paul show is seriously lacking on what is happening behind the scenes. I'm almost tempted to watch the expanded coverage sometimes. Then I come to my senses .

I don't think they get any more info on that days stage. They add more interviews and pre-built packages about the racers.

I know. But sometimes, and I stress it's only sometimes Bob Roll seems a little more clued in than Phil&Paul. Just the other day Paolo Savoldelli was towing Vino and another Astana rider up one of the major climbs and not once did Phil or Paul give him any credit. They kept talking about Vino and the other guy (Kashechin or Kloden, can't recall). Anyway, it was perfectly obvious that it was Paolo pulling the train but P&P just didn't seem to see that. I caught some of the expanded coverage that night and Bob was much better at giving Paolo some props.
