Goldilocks

The first tandem was too short. The second was too tall...

Found a late 80's Santana Elan. Made a few changes of course: Reset the rear drop outs 5mm, put in a 9 speed drive train, updated the fork, had an FSA K-wng with a Ritchey stem just laying around, and of course the Velocity wheels. I still have a set of Ultegra Octolink cranks to add, but need to get the BBs first.

Looks good. Those older Santana filet brazed frames look great.

Fit issues?
Go custom.
Us: pilot is 5,7" and stoker 4,10".
Have owned 4 custom tandems in the past 38 years. Proper tandem fit is an absolute.
Another choice: Co-Motion Periscope models. Ultra adjustable up/down. Also optional adjustable pilot and stoker stems and 700c or 26" wheels.
Can easily accomodate 6'3" to sub-5' riders, either front or back.
Just our input/experience.
Pedal on!

Nice! My first tandem was a fillet brazed Sovereign. Very classy. Geez, that's been so long ago I don't remember what model year it was!
