Hello All,
I plan to buy a new bike and think hybrid is exactly what I need.
Currently I have CinderCone and Charger, both good for offroad/mb/xc.
Looking for refresh.
My rides are 10% on the asphalt bike routes, 20% gravel, 70% trails.

Specialized - I am fan of the brand. Had two MB and find them great.
Components seems to be better, REAR DERAILLEUR SLX is better than Deore M6000. Suspention is not great for both.

Dual Sport 4 - just a solid alternative

Pro 1X - I used to ride mb, better components.

All suggestions please.

Curious on what your spending limit is?

I personally am a fan of the Crosstrail, since I own one. The Trek is nice also and would suggest checking both out in person to get a good feel. But you can get a Giant Roam for similar price with better suspension and similar equipment:

There is no certain budget limitation. I am ready to spend between 1k-3k.
what limits me is the fact that we have highest rate of stolen bikes in Canada. My Rocky and Specialized were stolen.

I found discount on Crosstrail elite, it's 1k only at LBS.
Also there is one Sirrus Pro Carbon, which is 2.5k, I love parts and carbon, but lack of suspension is big concern.
Road for me is mostly off-road.

Looks to me that a XC mountain bike would suit your needs a lot better than a hybrid. The only advantage of a hybrid on asphalt (and smooth gravel) would be higher gearing, while a mountain bike surely outperforms it on trails. I'd suggest getting a mountain bike, swap out the tires for narrower ones and modify the gearing if you need.

- This is where I started. My intend was to buy Pro 1X for mainly trails. I just found hybrid for myself as an alternative.
- Exactly what I did already - I swapped 2.8 tires on my Kona to 1.9 and start to use it more for light outdoor and asphalt, when I have Charger for technical. Both bikes are older gen, still doing the job.

- It did not matter, the thief came to parking lot to steal ATV of my neighbor with trailer. They cut biggest chain u ever seen. And cut my locks and took bikes just as add on to ATV.

After, I bought bike alarms, ULocks, and heaviest chain. Still try not to leave bikes unattended.

I could never understand why anyone would get a hybrid with a suspension fork in the first place over a MTB. The typical fork they use is junk. I would always get a MTB and change tires to something more road friendly. Just my opinion. But it seems we have a similar opinion.
The Rockhopper is a very good bike.

- In my case I already have 2 MTB, and I changed tires on Kona from 2.7 to 1.9 and use it more on asphalt and light trails, before it was my prime MTB.
- In my case I wanted new bike for Kona replacement as prime bike for overall.
- I consider Chisel X1 now, as in other topic looking for demo so I can prove the purchase.

I live, bike, and breath mountains.

At the typical sale price of a hybrid with a suspension fork, a MTB will have a cheap Suntour XCT or similar, which is at least as bad as an NEX fork. Plus, MTBs often have geometry optimized for off-road travel (often with much slacker head tube angles), which is not ideal for other types of riding. They often have very high trail due to the slack HT angle which makes for pretty weird handling on the road. Some MTBs would not be a good hybrid substitute, even with more road-friendly tires.
