**** yeah it is!

That rainy sprint yesterday was classic Giro. Also super impressive nobody crashed during that!!

Seems like Yates has it in the bag unless something drastic happens.

As much as I love to hate, that was very, very professional. Bravo.

So good. Dumoulin shouldn’t have waited for Pinot’s teammate tho.

Poor Tom is still 2nd by under a minute, just to a new dude. Crazy.

Did Yates even make the time cut??

The admins created a thread in the road forum called 'race spoilers' where people can talk about the races as they're unfolding, and asked about adding one to this forum. Does that go in this thread already, or is this after the fact discussion?

This thread is both/all: pre-race, during-race, and post-race discussions, where spoilers are allowed and encouraged.

As for yesterday's stage, pretty boring - except for Dumoulin trying to get away repeatedly but it just not working out.. and Pinot blew up and lost his podium spot, meh.

Speaking of spoilers, I spoiled today's result for myself on accident by trying to restart Fubo's stream of todays stage, but played it live instead - got an eye-full of Bennet crossing the line looking happy. ****

Not a shocking result, but I wanted to see all the pomp & circumstance that led up to the sprint. I'll still watch most of it later. Love the Giro!!

Anyone watch the final Giro stage?!

So awesome. Like a gnarly crit.

Froome didn’t seem happy about it but whatever. It’s bike racing, so race your bike.

Caught the tail end of it. What was with the GC neutralization? Course conditions too dangerous? Also, who decides who goes with which group? I think Pozzovivo went with the front group. Glad to see Bennett land the win.

Odd stuff.

Not a Froome fan, but all in all an entertaining stage race.

On a much smaller and slightly more relatable scale, some data behind what it took to win the Winston-Salem Classic: https://datadrivenathlete.com/2018/0...a-and-tactics/

I've lost a few races to that guy - now I know why!!

45 secs at 923 watts in the middle of a race... Wow. And such tactical awareness. That's a great read!

Criterium du Dauphine.

Prologue: Thomas crashed but still beat most of the field! Kwiatkowski said they’re still both leaders. Not sure about that.

Stage 1: watching a bunch of climbers do a field sprint is actually scarier than watching sprinters do a field sprint!

This is incredible. I guess I assumed riders had a nutrition and race plan, but not to this level of detail. Regardless what you think of team sky, they really have taken this sport to a whole other level of science.

I've read somewhere before that someone from Sky, not sure if rider or staff, said the money makes a huge difference in being able to afford more support staff than other teams and not in spending more on better riders. This is a perfect example of that. What other team could expend the amount of resources needed to create and execute a plan at that level. It's insanely impressive.

Funny. They didn't post the doping regimen they follow.
