Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I couldn't tell you how they compare to Sidi, because I couldn't get Sidi to fit. Their "Mega" shoes aren't wide - they're high volume (a more generous upper rather than a wider footbed). That said, nothing about my CX237s strikes me as a compromise in terms of quality.

I get another strip and start plugging them in to it and I have 5 plugs for 4 devices. The fifth plug was for the power strip. I had plugged itself into itself.

I ran Sidi for a long time, and had no reason to dislike them, other than the fact they weren't quite wide enough. I went middle of the road price point on them, simply because I wasn't sure if they would work. They lasted well, and I wouldn't hesitate to by them again, if they were the only wide game in town like they were back then. Lake 237's sold me on them, and I went up to the CX402's, with the mold-able heel. It appears that was replaced by the 403, and should you choose to go that route, go up 1/2 size over the Lake's you have now.

Lake are my personal choice due to a better fit to my foot.

Which Lakes are you looking at? I have wide 238s and like them; they’re foot shaped. Sidis seem a bit over-designed to me, but I haven’t used them in the clipless era.

I have TX212s now and would be getting the CX238; am I right in thinking at that level I'd be staying the same size?

The "Sidi not wide enough" is likely the killer; the wide Lakes are probably a little wider than I need but wow is that nicer than the opposite. On the trainer I use my old Shimano shoes, which I cut into sandals because I was sick of the blisters.

I can root for the Indians since we lived in that market for 10 years. I am sure you are torn by the Atlanta and Cincinnati matchup - the 2 nearby franchises.

Looking at the CX238 wide, so probably the exact ones you have. "Foot-shaped" sounds like heaven to my flappy flippers.

Yes. Stay the same size. The race lasts of the upper end models are slightly less generous.

Supper time?

Close, breakfast. Big Daisy, the Kangal Shepherd, is almost as accurate as my watch. When 6:00 AM or PM rolls around, if I am not in the kitchen preparing dog meals, she finds me, sits in front of me and, if I don’t respond, she clubs me with a front paw.
