DIY frame pump placement and attachment examples please
Building up an early 90s Paramount mtb for my dad (light touring style with albatross bars) and am looking for creative inspiration re: mini hand pump placement. Not unlike this...

never liked having a minipump on the downtube.
more likely to get water and grit thrown up to ruin the slide.
more likely to get knocked loose, or fall off unnoticed.
frame fit pumps under the top tube preferred.
why not git'im a small triangle wedgie-bag that fits
in the rear triangle above the fender?

I always store my tubes in a plastic bag, if you get a piece of sand or grit in between the tube and the tire, that is where your next puncture will be. The plastic bag keeps the tube clean. I mention that because of your photo showing a tube strapped on the outside of the frame. In the photo below, there is a black triangular bag strapped to the top of the top tube just in front of the seatpost. I have two tubes, small multi-tool and patch kit in that bag. Unfortunately, you can't see the entire bag in that photo but you can see most of it so you can see the size of the bag.
Many if not most small pumps come with brackets that can be attached to the frame under the water bottle cage with the cage bolts. That is how I prefer to attach my smaller sized pumps to my bike frames, as in the photo below.
