TIME bikes frames: masterpieces of manufacturing artistry?
Watch this short video and dare to tell me that you don't think the attention to detail and precision and just simple craftsmanship and artistry isn't awe-inspiring. I want one of those bikes. I NEED one of those bikes.
What I cannot explain is why stuff in that Chinese bike factory is all in French. Weird.

I appreciate nice work but I see no artistry. Which is as it should be; good work merits respect on its own account and need not be elevated to art.

Relax. I believe that good design can, in some cases, ascend to the plane of artistry. Be that as it may, I was using the term loosely, as a way to express my admiration for the elegance and attention to detail of their manufacturing process.

I agree Helldorado. They are works of art in my opinion. I am impressed with their manufacturing process, which includes some hand work. Thanks for sharing the info.

I tend to agree with boilermaker1.
If I see artistry it is usually a result of how the owner built out the frame. I am a sucker for a Randonneur type bike. Components chosen, fenders, lights and bag. I have seen a few Alex Meades and Waterfords on this site that put a big smile on my face.

Whew, I thought my computer had a glitch and instead of being on the site for General Cycling Discussion I was on an Apple Fanboy site.

The part I liked was when the subtitle stated, “We machine the different parts,” and after showed a bench grinder on what looked like the end of a steerer tube.

I think Time stuff is neat but art is a bit of a stretch. Certainly well made and a neat process though. Dario Peggoretti was an artist, The team at Firefly are artists, Chris Bishop is an Artist, Time is top level production which is cool but not really art.
