I moved to the greater Detroit area (Rochester Hills MI) recently and I'm looking for a good road group to ride with. Any suggestions would be great!

Halfway between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio. My rides usually take me through country roads and forests, but urban rides through Cleveland are a treat, too.

new to the Forum last week, from Ann Arbor, but work in Detroit.. and travel a bit- if I can work out a good travel setup for the trike, I'll probably be in the Chicago area at least once or twice a year if not more... family in Elgin.. and godkids in NE OH... along with a daughter and her family in Boyne City, MI that I visit often.. and of course DH is a kite fanatic even more than a cyclist, so we travel to kite festivals too

Welcome. It is really cold up there. This is my first winter back up north for 3 years or so. It is cold enough for me down here in Dayton.

at least 10" of snow this week (it snowed again today- didn't check for amounts, but it wasn't much.. just enough to make my drive home from the local clinic annoying.. the temps aren't that bad- a few years ago we had -40 windchills for weeks.. and the water line to the upstairs toilet froze overnight

Hey all ready to ride more
Hey I finally got my jamis renegade after my hybrids rear cassette exploded and tried to kill me. It got me 4 years and 8000 miles or so through rain sleet and snow so no love loss. So now I'm looking for people to take longer rides in the city. I now live in ferndale.

Ferndale in what state? If it's the one in the Detroit area, I was actually thinking of putting my bike on the rack the next time I take my Subaru into Hodges for service and riding around the area while they work on it. There are a couple of good places to eat (e.g., The Flytrap) that were an easy walk from the dealership before they moved down near 8 Mile Rd. At least it looks like there's a sidewalk along Woodward all the way up to downtown Ferndale that I can use.
