Carbo Loading LXIII

if anyone is wondering, the Carbo Loading thread is a place for random messages that don’t really warrant their own thread, and just to banter among C&A forum folks. They were started by Our former moderator, the late PhotoJoe, RIP.

Half-way through the year, is your mileage on track with last year? I’m at 3,434 vs 3,286 last YTD. Elevation is off, just 135K feet compared to 151K last YTD. Average speed is higher as to be expected with less climbing. 16.1 vs 15.7 mph. Two centuries last year, longest ride this year was 80 miles.

Start posting, we averaged just one post a day in last month’s thread!

My mileage is ahead of any previous year thanks to being able to utilize Zwift and since I use smart trainer and it simulates hills...I am counting the mileage in my totals. My goal this year is 5000 miles. My best previous year was just over 4000 in 2013 when I was unemployed for 99% of the year.

Veloviewer is projecting my mileage for this year at nearly 5735. Thanks to my week of ALC at home I have completed 1 full century and 9 metric centuries (all of these outdoors). I've been "lazy" this past couple weeks and have not been on Zwift with regularity during week.

I'm bang on where I was last year +/- 20 miles, but my riding tailed off severely in the second half of last year due to company travel. I will be conscientiously avoiding that mistake this year, but I didn't really start until March for travel related reasons. I'm going to start coloring in all the streets in Whittier for something to do though. wandrer.earth tracks that for you, or this cool little app I found the other day: App | BIFURKATE

I am going to beat last years mileage by a bunch. Last year I had over 6000 miles, this years goal was 7000 miles. With no traveling, I've been riding a lot more, I'm closing in on 6000 miles as of today.
