Advocating for liveable cities

Empowerment in the community.

We took all the lanes of I-95.

Emergency vehicles were safely re-routed.

i hope they don't move this thread ... im 100% with you ... ALL cities could benefit from car free (reduced) zones ... government/commercial delivery excepted ... Ebikes make this even more feasible now >>> most cities are just a cluster of smaller cities within one boundary ... connecting these clusters is economical & feasible ... BUTT BUTT US culture views bikes as recreational playthings & in most places it's too hot or cold or wet or another excuse for the slovenly to scoff at cyclers .... a post virus US & a post riot US may come to its collective senses and go greener

Having lived all over the US, there are definitely advantages to living in places with decent bike infrastructure.
"if you build it they will come" is maybe true, it's difficult to separate cause and effect in this case, but where there is infrastructure, it is definitely used, and there are more cyclists in general than places without.

They may, as the reason for the march was to literally make cities more livable -- that black folks in America are not murdered in the streets by police. If that's not livability, then what is?
