Neos dr replacement...

Man, I just can’t stop! Going to look at a Boardwalk geared Dahon and it seems to have a Neos. Is there an adapter that can be bought to let me switch derailleur or am I stuck with it?

Thanks for the info!

Well, I did read it and there was no info about an adapter available if I wanted to change the Neos out.

I remembered a site which doc a Boardwalk change from a Neos to another Shimano DR.

Seems the hanger is rare and elusive...

The Wheels Manufacturing #27 hanger adapter might work. Please check with the company before ordering.

No, normal hangers are not compatible.

A quick Google search of boardwalk hanger immediately gives you AliExpress.

tomtomtom123 I Thank You for the help! I did find the hanger on Aliexpress which matched the one I had in the pic. The dr problem shifting was a bad cable so I have some time to run the Neos before getting the itch to change it out.

tcs Snarky and wrong.

In the interest of helping others who wish to change their Neos derailleur to something else, here is what I have found:

From Litepro on the Aliepress site you have several companies offering the adaptor hanger in 3 colours, red, black and silver. Prices range from 17-20 US dollars with most offering free shipping.

I have not ordered yet but with a birthday coming up I might save myself the weird look when I say what I want.

also, what it will go on:

Lets just see see what the ship time is with this C-virus in play.

I have made several order thru AliExpress, Thru Jan, Feb and even early March. All have been received! It even seemed faster than usual. I have another order that I am waiting for (some Brompton aftermarket hinge clamps) that were shipped just two days ago.

Can’t wait! My project box is itching to get emptied. I will hold off removing the Boardwalk’s shifter, wheel and Neos until I have the adaptor in my hand.

The message today was that the dr adapter has landed in my country(USA). Should be on its way to my post office.

Something for me to do in the evenings when I can’t go out for social hour.

It is USPS that is the fragile link now. I had 2 identical domestic shipments lost by USPS over the last 4 weeks or so. 2 other items got into US but the are apparently stuck at the airport for a week+. Apparently many employees are sick around the core metropolitan hubs. They work to keep the country running, but honestly the risks they need to undertake are well in excess of what the bike parts are worth of.
