Bike people humor, although a bit crude so view at your own risk...

I just read this joke; change motorcyclist to bicyclist:
God wants to reward an especially faithful christian motorcyclist.
God: "What would you like for a reward for your faith?"
Cyclist: "I want a bridge from CA to HI. I want ride my bike there."
God: "That's a little extravagant. The distance and depth of the ocean would be prohibitive."
Cyclist: "OK, you're right. How about giving me the wisdom to understand women?"
God: "Were you thinking a 2 lane bridge or a 4 lane bridge?

I actually caught myself overtaking a cop as I was starting down a hill. 37 at the moment in a 35. Needless to say I started slowing down. For the record my best speed on that hill is 45, so the potential is there I guess.

I think it's funny that so many people would like to get busted for speeding or trigger a speed camera on a bicycle, I was the same but for some reason googled it a while ago and because you don't need a licence to ride a bike there's no speed limit for them ... a least not on the UK anyway.

Not bragging or anything like that...... But I only ride where the speed limit is posted at 55 mph. I very seldom have to worry about speeding violations that way. I can just enjoy the ride......

It wasn't a directly opposing opinion though.
However, since you kindly encouraged me to look it up, I found this under Rule 123 in https://www.gov.uk/guidance/the-high...58#speedlimits
So unless cyclists aren't regarded as traffic, speed limits in buit up areas apply to them as well. I am not a lawyer though, perhaps I'm interpreting this wrong.

*The 30 mph limit usually applies to all traffic on all roads with street lighting unless signs show otherwise.

Might be an idea to do a bit of simple research before taking a directly opposing opinion to someone else and posting it in a forum**********
