2018 Trek FXS4 Men's Bike Not Available in US ?

I've been throwing around the idea of replacing the +1, and saw a woman's FXS4 was available but no men's bike on the Trek US sight. I see it's available on the U.K. sites, and I really like the upgrades from the 2017: disc brakes, internal cable routing. I wonder if Trek is just holding out so they can sell off the 2017's ?

I was wondering the same thing. Also how is this bike over 3lbs less than the 2018 FX3 Disc?

1. Different, and probably lighter, frame.
2. Different, and probably lighter, fork.
3. Different (road; flat-mount) and probably lighter brakeset.
4. Different, and definitely lighter, drivetrain components.

Explains both the weight difference and the price difference.

Yup to what badger1 said, it has better and lighter components. Tiagra groupset, different frame, flat mount Tektro brakes, lighter wheel set too. When or if the 2018 FXS4 is released and still lists at $1100, it might be worth the upgrade over the 2018 FX3 disc, if you can get the $100 dealer "discount".

i follow the fx line obsessively and did noticed the fxs4 was not available on their site but the mens was... interesting.

from what i've learned ordering treks in the last few years, go to your dealer and ask them to check warehouse inventory. this will tell you if they have the 2018 fxs4 or not. it's quite possible that the website simply isnt updated yet. same goes the other way - if you dont see an older bike listed on their site anymore, it's possible your local warehouse (or even local bike shop) may still have that model.

Looks like it is finally available. A little cheaper $1069 than the Woman's version. Kind of bland looking online. Still debating between this and the Giant Fastroad SLR 1. Leaning a bit more towards the Fastroad.

I noticed it was available too, not sure why it's cheaper than the woman's version? I'm not so concerned about the way it looks, I lean more towards price, components and weight. From what I see, I like it a lot more than the FX3, and I'm guessing it will soon replace my Fuji Crosstown as my new +1.

Just ordered my 2018 FX S4 from a local dealer here in Austin. It'll be in next week. Can't wait!

Great. I did not know they has an FX S4. Glad you could get one. Just looked it up online. Very nice. Only .6Lbs heavier than the carbon model above it (5) and it looks like it has the new geometry.

I test rode the men's bike last weekend and it was great. I was surprised how well it rode on the streets of NYC. Considering one, although the reviews are so-so.

What reviews are you talking about that are so-so? Reading the reviews on it, it's running at a 4.7 out of 5. Seriously, what reviews are negative for the 2018 FX S4?
I've had mind since last Fall, have put well over 1000 miles on it so far and can't get enough of it.
