Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

In track (running), the 1500m is called the metric mile. Thus a metric century should be 150km. Prove me wrong.

71 and windy today. I’m pretty sure I was rolling backwards at one point in my ride.

Looking like 90 degrees on wed. We’re heading down to the OBX tomorrow for a night. Hoping to catch some waves and avoid the crazies.

The Weggy in Cherry Hill, NJ, is like my local Whole Food, only filled with suburbanites. Try to make it out of the parking lot alive.

My Gianni Motta had a Giro d’Italia map on it which he won In 1966. BTW, the frame is 41 years old, minimum, and I rode it 27 miles Saturday, last.

No idea. I bought it used from a shop in Germany and the receipt says it’s a 1979 model. I had it repainted A couple years ago and replaced the original Nouvo Record group with a 2014 Record group. It’s a great riding machine with modern parts and wheels, as good as the modern bikes that I’ve owned.

Ah. I was thinking you'd been riding it for 41 years. That would be impressive.
