Here you go. Meilan M3 mini GPS computer. $20 on ebay. Don't know how it performs. Oh, nevermind. It doesn't save GPS datapoints, like gpx. It only records distance, time, altitude, etc. No upload or transfer function. For $35, the M4 does everything else, but you said you don't want those function. Oh nevermind. The m4 has no GPS.

You can get an older used Garmin eTrex for probably less than $40.
Operation is pretty simple, but older ones are not WiFi or bluetooth so you would have to transfer data with a cable. And I believe they will only track the US GPS satellites and not the Russian or European ones.
