I've been lurking for a while, deciding on my first decent bike. I've found answers to all my questions and plenty of opinions. This and the jackass threads are probably the only places I could contribute so here is a Vivalo I saw yesterday
I work in Osaka and recently started walking through a neighborhood with quite a few ssfg bikes sitting around. This is the most interesting one I've seen so far.
I live close the Vivalo workshop and would like to eventually build a bike with Vivalo frame so I got a soft spot for them.

Feel free to PM me if you're having difficulty with it.

Since you're so into vivalo, how are they fairing after having lost their NJS certification? Did they reattain certification since the fork steerer brazing issues?

Doesn't that Vivalo belong in the JA thread? Look at the rear brake, saddle, bars/grips. And it looks like it is locked to itself. WTF?

Edit: at least it's got duraace hubs.
I think the brake/lever situation is the way to get around Japan's double brake law, just kind of on there for show and out of the way.

Tenspeedv2,
I debated about where to put it but I have tunnel vision for the frame and front hub. And I saw it on the street so it went here. Is there a jackass on the street thread?
Those short risers seem to be standard issue in Osaka. The locking technique is common as well here in the bike thief paradise that is Japan

I only use a Knog Party Frank or Hiplok Pop to lock my bikes. Although I do lock them to an object mainly because everyone locks their bicycle to itself and uses a kickstand. So if you park with everyone and the wind blows or an old lady can't squeeze hers out of the mess, they will all get knocked over. I have even had notices stuck on my bike by the city saying you cannot lock it to an object. If you are illegally parked, they want to pick it up and move it to a locked area so you can pay a fine to get it back.

Sorry for the quick non-drive side pic, I was on the clock. Felt parked outside of my work. That is my non-FG commuter in the background.

Not fixed but worth posting IMO. Hand made carbon recumbent I ran into on the MUP today. It looks jackass but it is actually a pretty fast ride and I gotta hand it to someone who makes their own bike and rides something as ugly as that in public.
