Bike to match team kits?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I don't mind people wearing just a team jersey too much, it's basically the same thing as wearing your favourite football team's shirt. And I love my retro Mapei jersey .
I don't know man, if you're going to be a full kit warrior it's my assumption and many others that you should have at least the matching bike brand. It might be painfully obvious you're not on the team, but at least you're not causing my eyes pain with conflict that "one of these things does not go together." I never wear full team kit, I never wear team kit to be honest, or if I do I wear team kits from defunct teams for nostalgia purposes. Its like band shirts, you never wear the shirt that they're selling at the concert if you are really a fan of the band.

I ride a team replica bike, but that team no longer exists in the same form so I do not fit into this category, so I dunno, I'm not at fault of any of these sins and I'm not matchy matchy either. I only do it because despite all else I still think Team Disco Channel was one of the best teams out there ever to represent cycling as a sport. The other factor is I wanted a cool project I could bolt all my 6770 parts on.

OP here -- just to be clear, when I said "team kit" I meant my personal, local, team's kit. I'm not wearing a professional team's kit.

I know part of it maybe the lens, but that bike looks so tiny. I guess that is the trend for the Pro's though.

Its fine to ride club kit, just don't ride in the kit of a club that you don't represent.

Said it before...

You should NOT pick your bike based on your team's kit unless your team is paying for the bike.
You SHOULD pick your team based on the bike you currently have. (again, unless your team is buying you a new bike)

Huh. I picked my team because I like the people who ride for that team.

That's fine, so long as you're not wearing a current team jersey or pretending you're still riding with them.

Ah, crap, I TOTALLY pretend I'm still riding with them! Like, all the time! I even make a Strava comment to that effect from time to time.
