Help with Gios Super Record seatpost size

I've tried 27.2( no go)... I've tried 27.0 seatpost and it enters with a slight pry of the binder bolt ears. Does it require a smaller diameter post?

Does anyone recall what post size the Gios Super Record requires?

Much thanks

Chas (verktyg), should chime in soon with an answer, he knows his Gios real good!

Clean Yes

Round yes but not flat...,pointed edges near the top tube and binder ears.

I've seen those pointed edges bent in, preventing the post to go in, but you probably would have noticed that...

Thanks for bringing this up. Ill have to look at the frame again during the day and see if they need to be flared slightly outward.

I almost always take a round file to them to avoid nonsense.

I noticed the binder ears looked off and more slanted inward. As if a previous owner stuck a smaller diameter seatpost and pinched the ears.

I took channel locks and bent both just slightly outward.

Now the 27.2mm post enters with no struggle. A few paint flake and chips resulted but im happier that its straightened out.

Thanks to all for the help and input.
