Help! It's a barn full.
I just came across this ad on Craigslist. The dude lists some of the bikes--a Look, Bianchi. I spotted a Surly. But I was looking for some obscure clasic/vintage steel. The red and white frame and the Miyata caught my eye.
Do you spot any gems? I know the question is loaded. But it is a three hour round trip. And it is the opposite direction of the Bridgestone. (I am sure they will be picked through before I get there Saturday morning.) Guidance. (And yes, I understand the exhortations concerning fit!)

Given the vague pricing "Most will be from $25 to $300. About 10 will be higher of which 4 or 5 are my riding bikes....Up for sale are bikes from years of collecting and resale. " I wouldn't drive three hours.
Do you have the space and time to deal with this many bikes? Package deal usually is the cheapest option.
Definitely a lot better than the usual barn full of department store junk.

Your point about the pricing is spot on--hence my hesitation and question.
I had planned to go out to look at the Bridgestone--which is in the opposite direction. The Bridgestone is a tight fit. But now that I have seen this ad, I have a damned nice dilemma.

On sales like this, it's usually the situation that you want to arrive early, and get in on the first picks (and be willing to pay full asking price), or arrive late, and make a ridiculous low-ball offer for a bunch of bikes that haven't been scooped up yet. He's looking to sell most or all of this by Sunday, so late Saturday or Sunday morning means bargain time.

Is the white SURLY (3 bikes over from the MASI) setup as a single speed?
It might be an interesting bike, although I'm still not a big single speed fan, and everyone wants too much money for the SURLYs.

Good example on pricing. I would consider the RB-1 for $265 to be a much better deal (see the separate RB-1 $265 in Houston posting).

If he doesn't move them he may be dealing late in the day.
Being early works great on deals, but not at these prices.
I am sure he will sell a few. Especially some gravel bikes.

Thrifty Bill pretty much called it. The Cannondales and Looks were gone. The prices he was asking for the others were around FMV (at least what I have seen around here). The brown MTB was a Raliegh, cromo frame and fork. But I wasn’t willing to go 200.
The blue on the shelf was a Panasonic.
He had an interesting white orange road bike. Osso (?). It had this drop bars from the 80s that curved back into the frame.
I came away empty handed—wondering if I should have made the plunge on one of the needier frames.

Was the seller the original owner of the bikes?
What can happen is something like the Look is that it may be worth... $700???
More? So, the seller might let it go for $300, but then stick to his $200 asking price on the old MTB.

There have been the occasional stash of vintage bikes that pop up for say $50,000 as a lot sale.
This might have been one of those that one could make an offer for every bike. Say $4000, and you take it all.
But, it would depend a bit on time, and moving the bikes from a bad market to a good market. Or part them out and deal with cleaning parts and letting them sit on E-Bay for a few years.

The Look selling is no surprise. Cannondales have a rabid following, just not on here as much. Good gravel bikes should have sold. A brown Raleigh MB for $200?
How much was the Osso?
I am surprised he didn't have a barn of crap. Rusty worthless junk seems to excite people in this forum.
If he was out west, or in the DC Boston 95 Corridor he would have made out.
