I've picked up frames and parts from craigslist, never a bike. Saw an ad for this and $20 later, 17 miles away, it's mine. It screams single speed, but I don't think so. Nothing to cut, though.
No serial number, Triumph Cycles from Nottingham, England. Appears a 58cm frame, lugged steel for sure.
Sturmey-Archer 27x1.25 chromes, Huret shifters and FD, Allivet RD. Saddle isn't original, very narrow steel bars, brake levers have an "R" on them, calipers are unmarked. 2x5 speed and he was actually using gun grease for the FD and RD. Hubs also say Sturmey-Archer on them. I'm wondering if it would look good with a Brooks honey look-alike and ditto wrap?

Here's a little something I picked up at last week's VeloSwap (thanks, TIOS!), a teeny little 19"/48cm Schwinn Traveler III. As received, it was a frame and fork. I just installed the headset, and will be building it up soon.

I can't decide - vintage 6 speed, or modern Sora 8 speed. Hmmmmmm........

Very nice score Robbie! The paint looks really clean, were the photos post-cleaning or as found?

Bought a pair of rough shape Worksman trikes yesterday. They have massive wheels, huge spokes, drum brakes in front and coaster brake in the rear. Weight weenies need not look as they weigh about as much as 2 Schwinn Varsities apiece. They feature tool boxes on the back and one is a three speed.

The place where I bought them have a few more and they are priced at either $25 or $50.

'74 Raleigh/Carlton Pro Frame/Fork....MINE!
WOot!

$260 shipped on the 'Bay. How'd I do?

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=008

It's slightly smaller than I normally ride, but totally doable. I can't wait to built it up! Now I just need a full campy group...

Yeah, shipping would be really expensive. Unlike a regular bike, even doing a disassembly of the front wheel, fork and even the rear wheels, would still leave a really big volume frame.

I think mechanically they aren't going to be that bad to overhaul. Now, making them look nice would be another matter.
