Trek 2500 At The Thrift
Cheap. I will have to get some pics up later. Not perfect, but not bad. Frame is nice. (I know this is not a big money bike, just a nifty find for the price)
My Doctor appointment will be late.

Well it cleaned up nice. Front wheel is a later matrix replacement with a 105 hub. No damage to the frame, or fork. Shimano 600 otherwise. No Dura Ace. Continental 3000's are surprisingly in excellent condition. Seat is dead. Of course it's to big. I can clear the top tube but barely. I am guessing around a 58. Nice bike, can't complain for what I paid. ( I have to remove the rest of the chain stay guard, it was flaking off, same with the composite lettering on one side, it needs to go)
Sorry lousy indoor nighttime pics.....

The seat head clamp not being adjustable on the seat post is making things difficult. Guess I have to order that to make a saddle fit. Two saddles I tried wouldn't work, both road saddles.
Funny, I took the seat post with the seat attached off of a 1998 Cannondale Super V I have and it fit right on the Trek. Seat, and post. And the seat is original to the super v.

Appears to be an American Classics post. Those actually work quite well. What is the exact issue you're having?
The allen set screw in back that pushes up on the clamp, and the recessed bolt that tightens the clamp, work in a push/pull relationship.

Got the guard adhesive, and the lettering off one side. A bit big, but I can ride it so why not hang on to it for a bit. It's not like they are easy to find. Seems like the full 7 Tube Versions are a bit rare. It was nice that it really does not need anything. A less aggressive stem. Bigger tires. For now .........
