Side winds of about 29km/h almost swept my front wheel from under me a couple of times; made for an interesting ride. Did my work for today.
Now it’s time to go out out and have a good time: today my wife and I are celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary! 😃

I do keep thinking I'll be riding a road bike the next weekend but winter weather keeps returning just on weekends of course so I'm savoring the mud while it lasts. Summers on the way here.
I did a loop taking over 4 hours, felt strong maintaining good momentum all on tight single track and muddy sloppy goodness

After a 20 mile road ride Thursday, I felt like dirt was the answer for Saturday morning... Tall grass was an issue though...

Sept 21 - No ride. Wanted to, but decided to take my GF out on a road trip instead.
Sept 22 - My usual 40k ride up the hills close to where I live! 1h30 round trip - 663 meters of ascension.

I pedal in my sleep...
Saturday presented a point A to point B ride I've always wanted to do, aka riding from home to meet the wife at the in-laws house. 60 miles and 4k ft of elevation.

Believe it or not, I saw a male red-headed mouse spider in 1999 in Arlington, Texas of all places. Obviously it hitched a ride all the way from down under or hatched from an egg sac that got transported. I would have caught it and showed it off to everybody but I didn't have anything available other than my bare hands, and the bite of a mouse spider has the potential to make you extremely ill, almost as much so as black widow venom. And we had plenty of black widows there. They were probably the most common spiders to see in webs. I woke up with one crawling across my shirt one time!

A good wekend
Started early on Friday with probably the last century of the season. 90 minutes on the trainer Saturday morning and, when the weather cleared, an easy 30 miles outside early evening. Sunday afternoon was a hard 40 miles in the wind.

Started LATE ON FRIDAY, actually 11:44pm, with far from being the last century of the season since temps are still in the 90°F's and expecting little change for some time to come so able to just pedal a long -- LONG time for another 125 miler.

77.5 miles, which was my longest ride in a while... maybe this year. Tried a road I hadn't been on before, which lead to a stretch of MUP into Castroville. Back via Hwy 1, 129, etc. Really nice day despite the flat I got 3 miles from home. I think I need to accept that I need to try some more durable tires.

I missed posting in last week's report since I went out of town soon after. Anyways. Two Thursdays ago did my usual evening ride around Davis Is. for 27 miles. The following weekend went out to Thonotosassa for 40 miles on Saturday. Sunday went back to Thonotosassa on a different longer route for 43 miles. The rest of the week I was in the Ocala Nat. Forest again for vacation. Tuesday and Friday did basically the same ride to a dam and lake reservoir for 40 miles. Saturday I did a much hillier route for 40 miles. My legs were killing me, but the at least the temperature had dropped and it was quite comfortable.

Mostly took it easy this weekend -- allergies are making my throat and sinuses raw. Skipped all the weekend group rides. Couldn't do those early morning rides feeling meh.
Did 26 miles Saturday on the hybrid for a change of pace and to make myself just ride instead of doing a "workout."
Another 27 miles Sunday, solo workout on a favorite rolling terrain route. Felt harder than usual so I cut it short and snoozed most of the day.
Feels like I've been slacking off this month but it looks like I'll finish September with more than 500 miles again. I know I'm riding only about 3 times a week, but I guess I'm riding more miles per ride so it works out the same.

Late to the game this week. Did a century ride event around a huge lake a couple of hours from the house. It was cold and windy and wonderful.
Totally forgot to start my Garmin at the beginning and also realized early in that I had my reading glasses still hanging on a cord around my neck. So I did the first 50 miles with them their until I got back around to where I was parked and chucked them into my truck.
Anyway. so 99 miles recorded at 5 hours and 29 minutes with 1329 ft of climbing. Avg pace was a very respectable 18 mph. Not bad since one leg was a lot of rolling hills and the other side was into a headwind. I think all my miles riding alone into the wind paid off as I was passing folks like crazy into the wind and had several hop on my wheel for awhile to get a rest.
Was planning on taking my Giordano XL Super but decided at the last moment to throw some aero wheels on the Y-Foil and take that.
The ol' beast back home after the ride.
