Okay, I know I will need to replace these tires sooner rather than later as much as I am riding.

The problem:

They are 24 X 1 3/8 tires! I cannot find them anywhere! I can only find wheelchair tires and I am not sure I can use those.

Anyone have any experience? Can I chance the width of the tire and just get new tubes?

Seriously, though, 24" in the standard BMX tire size. So there should be LOTS of knobby tires to choose from, and if you're looking from something slicker, there's at least this I found in 10 seconds on Amazon, and I'm sure there are others.

20" is the standard BMX tire.
24" is the "cruiser-class" in BMX.
24x1-3/8" is an oddity, just like 26x1-3/8" is.
"Normal" tires won't fit. the bead diameter is different for "1-3/8" tires.

FWIW, I have a ton of those things (24x1-3/8") that I'll never sell. I had to buy them to get some other stuff at a discount. They aren't great, but if you're interested, I'll sell them for 3 bucks each plus shipping.

Thanks. Yeah, I don't want anything too knobby, as I am using my commuter on days off as a road bike. I found that too, but tired to add to cart and it won't work. I'll keep trying.

Panaracer Pasela I think comes in that size, used on Terry Bikes and some Centurions. Swalbe has a folder in that size range also.

Yeah, the terry bikes are a flat 24'' on the dot and the Swalbe's didn't come in that size either. Right now, I just need something to put on for a 38 I want to do later. Unfortunately none of the "higher quality" tires are available in the size that I need.

My wife's Terry runs a 24 on the front and it is a REAL challenge to match a 24 front and a 27 rear and had me looking.
Niagara has about the best selections of 24's.

They are a discounter and most of the stuff you see on their page is what htey were able to get a smoking deal on. If you don't see what you are looking for call. I am pretty sure they can get the Pasella in that size.
