Factory Fenders?
I’ve always had a thing for bikes with OEM fenders. Fenders installed at the factory. Currently, I have two, one modern, one from the 70s. They add so much style- and they keep the bike and you clean. If you have one, post a pic!

Not sure you would like the disintegrating plastic fenders I had on most of my bikes originally. I think I have one with its original fenders and those are stainless steel.

Here's my '64 (I think) Raleigh Royale, which still has the original factory fenders. Well, most of them, anyway.
The broken rear fender is how I found it. Decided to keep them on, since the front was in such good condition.

1964 Frejus project. Mostly original. Levers not original nor the wheels which I think were tubular. Going to get some 32s to fill up the fenders a bit better too.
Fairly light for the age and equipment at 28 lbs. Fenders are mostly decoration as I won't ride this old classic in the rain.

No pics, but my 1st 10-speed was a Gitane Gran Sport in 1971. Came with metallic blue fenders to match the bike, depressed ridge down the center in silver (foil?). Beautifully made. Bike was home from taking delivery perhaps 10 minutes, fenders came off in the middle of the living room (I was 15 at the time). Of course, I rode in the rain a lot and a sizable % of my clothing had "racing stripes" up the back...

I was working in a bike store in Connecticut in the late '60s and early '70s: we removed and discarded fender sets from every Frejus, Legnano, and (I think) Atala bike that we assembled, week after week. A sad memory.

I did a Google images search on "1971 Gitane". Found almost none w/fenders, and those few were different than I described, possibly/probably added later. So I don't feel so bad now.

My 1950 Raleigh Superbe has it's original fenders. They are in good shape. I am jealous of those with 70s French bikes and original fenders. They are hard to find. I'm looking for a pair to fit my A08.

Here's my old bike with factory "mudguards". It's an Asian machine from the 70's, an old Bridgestone, made in Tokyo, with an admittedly heavy and unusually lugged frame. I think it was designed as a form of primary transportation for some countries.
I modified it with some about the same vintage, but upgraded aluminum Japanese components. It's slow, but it's the kind of bike that you can ride all day. I enjoy riding it, and it attracts a lot of attention.
