Ah! Something more to clutter the garage/closet, or serve as a clothing rack.

On the MS bike tour that I rode back in September, there was a couple using giant adult-size scooters to do the route, pushing them with their feet. They made it through the 57k, but it just seems like way more work than it needs to be.
When I first spotted this thread, I thought it would be about those kids who ride their BMX bikes mostly out of the saddle because their legs are folded up so tightly when they do sit down.

I hate 'em, especially when two people are together on those things.

Trikke somehow makes me think of roller-blades with an attached steering wheel...

As I am a naif who has never encountered this animal (the trike gizmo, looks like a mini scooter with two back wheels) - how in blazes is it propelled? If like a scooter, where does one plant the propelling foot? What makes it a trail hog? (be patient, I am as I said a naif)

They also make bikes specifically for jumping and similar acrobatics that don't have a seat- "trials bikes"- https://www.tartybikes.co.uk/images/c...zarip2013a.jpg

Bicycles are very familiar to a lot of people and so there has been no end of thought going into trying to "improve" the bicycle. In many cases, you can dream up some such improvement and discover that it was done, and it was done a 100 years ago.

There is an arrogant SOB here that runs one on the trail. I met him the other day, I steered as far right as I could but couldn't get off the path due to soft ground. I just stopped and waited for him to come up. He "took me to task" for blocking him and "asked" me to get out of the way. He had to stop, which messed up whatever rhythm mojo it takes to propel the thing, and get off an push past me, then remount and get it going again, which is no trivial task. It looks like a solution to a problem that hasn't arisen yet.

I rode away humming a few bars of the appropriate Jimmy Buffett song.
