cars owned/bikes owned

Whats your ratio of cars (motor vehicles) to bikes owned?

I count 11 cars (vans, trucks) & 15 bikes.

Yes, I did collect them. It started out being heavy on the Brit bikes, but expanded to include American, Japanese, Italian, and German. My first bike was a '52 BSA 125cc in 1958, followed by an 1945 Indian Chief in 1959. The rest is history. I did buy and sell them, but not as a business. I was just an avid hobbyist. But alas, those days are behind me. :-)

That's great! I knew a guy who had quite a collection. He had a 49 Chief which he restored and it was run over by a woman in a Cadillac, he wasn't hurt. He had a beautiful 50 Panhead, and even an Ariel Square 4, which wasn't complete, and a partial Vincent Black Shadow. He also had some more common British bikes and some Spanish dirt bikes.
I only had dirt bikes. A Montesa, a Husqvarna, a Maico, and a Yamaha.

My ratio thus far is 3:4 at 12 cars and 15 bikes.

Current ownership is 0 and 4.

I'm constantly thinking of the next bike.

Current ratio is 1:4. Over the years I have had an additional 6 or so bikes and about nine real cars. I also had a few clunkers for very short periods of time but I don't count them.

Cars/trucks are beyond counting. Bikes are about a dozen. Motorcycles about 20 with the last 6 (since 1997) being Ducati.

Four cars, one sailboat, and seven bikes that were purchased specifically for me during my so far 63 years of life. I tend to hold on to cars till they are totally worthless, bikes too I suppose. My current motor vehicle is 23 years old.

My wife drives nicer though, but we aren't counting stuff we buy for others are we? <grin>

Oh heck no, those don't count. I've had no car for five years, but my wife has had two in that period. I drive when we travel together, but I'm clearly a guest driver. Not my car; doesn't count.

Not counting bicycles I've bought for my parents, wife, and kids, but it does include bikes my parents gave me when I was a kid.

Sailboats! I've had 3. 2 racing dinghies and a(n experimental) sailing canoe. I let others own (and pay for) the big stuff. I have no way of measuring my "boat years". Sailing, designing and building boats was the dream of my younger years, then focus in life, then derailed by my head injury. As I lived through watching that love ebb recede out of reach, my solace was the bicycle.

For me, cars were tools. First a VW bus to pursue my dream across the country, then 3 Toyotas, first two used.

Household number for the two of us: 2 cars (one driver & one classic/collector); 11 bikes (all bikes are in ride-condition and used regularly), and 2 new ones on order .... Wait, do we count tandems as one bike or two Of the 11 bikes, one is a tandem; and one bike on order is a tandem too.

My memory isn't what it used to be, but I think my car:bike ratio is about 12:21
One difference is that I've only ever owned 3 vehicles at one time, but I hang on to the bikes for a lot longer. Thus, my current ratio is 1:5

I wish to revise my previous answer. I answered with bikes and cars currently owned, but other answers seem to be listing lifetime ownership.

Cars: 8 including one motorcycle, not including cars owned but never plated or put on the road.
Bikes (that I have owned as an adult): Around 25, including spouse and youth bikes, not including partial bikes not yet assembled or restored.

You guys got better memory than me.
I have a hard time accounting just for the current bikes.

Does the number include bikes I have stashed around the country at friends and relatives houses for when I visit? Add +3.

The term I use is 'fully depreciated'

Only one of my cars have I ever gotten any monetary value after I was done, except for a couple $$ at the scrap yard.
