Koga Miyata Exerciser - thoughts?
For sale near me is this Koga Miyata frame set plus random parts.
It’s in my size, has the funky FM-1 tubeset (like Columbus SLX, apparently), and I have a mint 3x9 105 groupset ready to go on. I was thinking - use the existing wheelset (126mm) and 8 of the 9 cassette sprockets.
thoughts?
It’s up for €100....
thanks all!
Simon

Better you than the current owner, as it's certainly too big for him. Miyata's STB/FM-1 is a great tubeset, However, the frames with internal top tube brake cable routing that use plastic grommets as the ports can be prone to stress cracks under the grommets, so be sure to have a close inspection. I can't tell from the picture if this frame has the plastic or metal ports. I'll defer to other members on the value, as I have no appreciation for German market conditions.

That does look lovely.
Just out of interest, what would you say the max. tyre clearance is? Could I get a 700c/28 under the fork crown and rear brake bridge?

I wasn't familiar with that model. From the thread title, I thought it was referring to a stationary bike.

Great score, I'm betting you will be pleased as punch.
Make sure you update your build progress, with pictures!
Sorry I didn't get back to you regarding tire clearance.
I've got 25's on mine currently, and imagine 28's would fit, but cannot be certain.
