2018 Fuji Touring
Just wondering if anyone here has a 2018 Fuji Touring. The geometry is different than previous years. I was considering buying a Surly LHT 64cm frame (I'm 6'07) and building it up but it seams that there isn't any in that size anywhere and I am getting tired waiting for them to come out if at all.

You should contact Surly Customer Service by email or phone and inquire about availability of 64cm LHTs framesets. They have always given me prompt, useful answers. I'm sure they know if 64s are coming in, and when (within a week or two). They are a big customer to their Taiwanese framemaker, I imagine they know exactly whats going on here at the end of Winter.

My Fuji Touring is a 1998, though I bought it in 1999, so it's 20 years old. It was an excellent value, IMO. The only original parts left on it are the brakes and the fork, although the front wheel was still usable when I went to a dyno wheel 5 years ago. I'd buy another one, though it'd take me a while to move all my favorite parts over.
Back to what I'm guessing your question is: the effective geometry of the LHT and Fuji look very similar. A cm difference in effective top tube, and the seatpost and head tube angles are within a degree. A half a gear lower (36 vs. 34 on the Fuji) on the LHT, so not much difference in climbing. One extra centimeter on the LHT chainstay. If you can fit one, I'd expect the most you'd need to swap out would be the stem to fit the other.

Everyone is different when it comes to geometry, but 6'7 would seem like a tight fit on a traditional 64cm frame. I am 6'5 and ride 63-65cm frames.
Perhaps this would be a good option.

Thanks for the replies. I emailed Surly, awaiting an answer. I will also contemplate getting a Soma Saga instead. The bigger geometry would definitely fit me better than a LHT. Thanks again...

I'm also curious if anyone has a '18 yet. Looks to have some nice upgrades over the previous year, though more expensive. I love the new lugged fork and the pump peg is a major plus for me. Performance has them on sale for $899 but I'm going to wait and see if they drop more over memorial day weekend.

I like the extra rack mount fittings on the fork, I wish I had that on some of my bikes. I wonder if you could directly bold the Blackburn Outpost cargo cage on it? On one of my bikes that lacks a pump peg, I just wrap some velcro around the pump and top tube to hold the pump parallel with the top tube.
