Similar Bikes

Hey guys,

I just found out that my LBS does not stock the specialized sirrus sport bike.

I was wondering what bikes are similar to the specialized sirrus sport and also the Trek 7.3?

The LBS said these brands: Giant, Scott and GT.

Don't just stick to those brands. mention others if you want.

Thanks,
Chris

I'm not sure how you want to define "similar." For example, I test-rode both the Specialized Sirrus (base model) and the Trek 7.3 about a year ago, and while they both had similar components and were in basically the same "class" of bicycle (performance hybrid), they had different geometry and my body was positioned a little differently on one than it was on the other. Are you looking for similar components/class or similar geometry?

Looking mainly at the geometry of the sirrus as it is more road orientated than the FX (which is more mountain orientated).

Sirrus geometry...

I checked out some giant bicycles. I like the look of DEF3 and CRX3. How is the geometry on these bikes?

DEF3 is described sport/entry level road, whereas CRX3 is described flat bar road performance, what do you guys make of this?

The DEF3 has drops whereas the CRX3 has flat handlebars, I haven't used drops before so I couldn't make a decision on whether I would choose drops, I would need to test ride... To early though my B'day isn't till August...
