Aw, go easy on him. He needs a bike between 56 and 62 inches in frame size. It's hard having a giant inseam. Remids me of Spinal Tap.

Wacky doesn't come close to describing that (and some others posted here). Some people are either out of their minds or never had one to begin with. What planet are they from?

That is a Very Special bicycle That would Certainly Be one of My Most Treasured possessions Espcially if I were To Overpay and Pay Him his Asking Price for That Bicycle.

Perhaps the upper case letters in the ad increase the price?

"Olmo also known as "The Schwinn of Italy" "

Can't believe that after 31 years of bicycling I'd never, ever heard that. Not to be mean to the Schwinn collectors out there (some of my best friends...) but that never would have been a compliment to any builder aspiring to be among the roadie elite of the 70's & 80's.

None other than Sheldon Brown has that line on his website. Mind you, he wasn't the one saying it. He was quoting an else. In addition, I think this is where the seller got the idea to offer his bike for $1000.

Someone I know once called Olmo the Schwinn of Italy. That is because Olmo produces a full line of bikes - some of which are quite extraordinary. The fancy Olmo frames always struck me as being rather similar to Colnago Supers in overall appearance. Their quality is also fairly similar. Some are absolutely gorgeous, others are a bit sloppy. They are, just like Colnago, known for their very nice ride. There were many examples in the late 70's and early 80's that came through with wonderful pantographing and the sweet Campy "Mexico" crank. There were actually production bikes! In guideline condition, one of these should be worth around $1,000. Models with no pantographing with N.R. parts in guideline condition should be worth around $800. Note that Olmo is a very old name in bicycles. As a result, you may find wonderful examples from the 50's and 60's too! values of those bikes is mainly determined by condition and scarcity of the parts.

I saw one a couple of years ago where a guy said flat out he stole the bike (a gary fisher mtb, nice one) gave his phone number, and get this...said he would be at such and such a corner (McArthur BART station in Oakland, CA) at a certain time and you could just meet him there.
At the time I lived right next to that bart station and I kept checking to see if there was a big fight or anything there.

' might be a nice bike, but I'm not willing to give a ligament for it.

Marin Alp Series Pro (Grafton)

Date: 2009-08-15, 12:53PM CDT
Reply to: sale-nzj7s-1324825609@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Marin Alp Series in pristine condition. This road bike is fast, City bike comfort! With fast rolling road wheels these bikes can hang with the quickest riders in the bunch. The handlebar and bar ends give you the comfort of a riding position you already know so well. Whether it is your first club ride or you're looking to get back on your bike later in life, the ALP series is designed with comfort, safety and efficiency in mind.
Description:
• 7000 Series Full Double Butted Aluminum Frame
• Shimano Sora Front Deraileur, Shimano Tiagra Rear Deraileur
• 6061 Aluminum 170 gram Flat Bar Handlebar
• Formula Xero Lite XR-3, 16 Hole front, 20 Hole rear Rims
• 17.7 inch frame
• I added a large amount of extras to bike

The reason I am selling it is because two weeks after I purchased the bike I broke my and can no longer a bike. The bike has never been ridden, it has been stored by hanging it on a padded frame bar and released the air out of the tires. We just filled them today and no leaks of problems with the bike. The bike is an 18 speed.
When I purchased it three years ago I paid well over $1,200.00 for it. I am willing to discuss any ligament offer to a serious buyer. The bike is absolutely perfect and is a must see.
Either call me at home: 262-264-0040 or my cell at 262-617-3825 or by email.
By the way if you check on line the exact same 2009 Marin Alp Series bike is now selling for over $2,500.00

Looks like a huffy quality bike eh - and eyeballing it, looks like 700c tires and 27" wheels.

Is it just me, or is that a big honking tig weld on the downtube? But more importantly - isn't that a '60s Bianchi? It's got 151's:

I'd like to meet the ba$turd who was responsible for this.

the above posting might make a goos parts kit but not for 225. the Schwinn guy gets tons of extra points for creativity. must be a bored out of work advertising guy.

I found this earlier today trolling for Bianchi deals. nice bike even has a brazed lugged Aluminum frame and is selling for $75 more than it sold for new in '89
https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/bik/1324303598.html

of course it does have metal shiftgers and pedals. but he forgot to mention the very versitile H2O transport systen with deluxe velcro attachment. that must be why he is asking so much

Agreed, but I dare say that frame - regardless of condition - might be something special worthy of some frame repair (for some folks, anyway).

So they have a Walmart bike for sale, in excellent condition, for only about $80 more than the current new price.
https://denver.craigslist.org/bik/1301723976.html

We formed Community Cycles.
Our aim, to recycle bikes from the local community, make them reliable again and get them back out to low income and/ or high needs members of the community. We further developed our best ideas and created a several programs such as Create-A-Commuter and Earn-A-Bike, on which to anchor our efforts. We connected with local resources and quickly established our workshop in north Boulder. We found that Boulder has no shortage of used bikes and we bravely took on the task of bicycle revitalization.

I found this $600 Centurion Sport DLX on CL in the Raleigh area. Yes I said $600, and now I know why. It has Quick Release tires! No really, it says so right in the ad. Of course the ad goes on to say, those great quick release tires have to be replaced. So somebody help me, are quick release tires a good thing or not?

Touring (Road) Bike
Bought in 1990
29" Frame
12 Speed
Quick Release Tires
Frame in great Shape!
Tires need to be replaced, but otherwise great bike
Turquoise Frame with Pink Tape (easily changed)
