Shimano PTFE or Jagwire Road Elite cables/housings
About to replace the chain and cassette on my Cannondale CAAD12/Ultegra to change cassette ratios. At the same time, I am planning to install new cables and housings. It's down to Jagwire Road Elite Sealed and Shimano PTFE cables and housings. I already have Jagwire Road Elite for the brakes and am happy with the result. A nearby LBS recommended the Shimano product.
Any thoughts/comments from those who have tried both?

I have a good experience with the Jagwire cables (elite link). It had smoother cable pull feel overall compared to the shimano cables it replaced. I would buy the same if ever I need to replace them.

Shimano Optislick for shifting, Jagwire or anything else for brakes. Haven't had any peeling or other problems.

I have Shimano with the optislick crap and at what I estimate to be 1200 miles, I and the LBS agree I'm probably in need of cable replacements, at least for the RD. They said the regular, non opti should go for 3000ish miles.

Actually you should do what I did a eliminate the shifter cables.

just switched myself from shimano to jagwire. The shimano stuff works fine just need to change it more often imo

I like Jagwire but I am running the Shimano polymer coated cables at the moment thanks to a great deal I found online. They are very good and no fraying/peeling so far.
