Freakin' Forte Pro SL. If you knew how much money I've shelled out on saddles since ~2005, you'd comprehend the magnitude of the irony that a $40 saddle from Performance was the best thing I've put under my backside. Now to go buy 3 or so more to keep around for when the model gets changed or discontinued.

Looks like one of those cushioned toilet seats.
Now you don't even have to slow down when the urge hits. Just slip to the back of the paceline and...
Seriously, glad you found something that works for you and at a fair price.

I had this saddle and rode it for several months before deciding it was just too hard...It was pretty good with bike shorts, but sometimes I ride with regular clothes on, and that was immediate discomfort as soon as I sat on it...it fit great, Could tell because it was my seat bones that were hurting...

The best saddles I'd used before this were one particular Selle Flite and the Specialized Toupe. My last Toupe was the carbon railed version which is what - north of $200?
Btw the Forte Pro SL is indeed pretty light as a bonus. On my scale it was 211 grams which is just a tad more than most Toupes.

I actually love the saddle that came with my ALR 5. Best saddle I've used.

I can appreciate how you feel.
Saddles are like girlfriends...you can spend tons of money on some fancy sleek ones, but in the end, you'll always be happier with the wider/softer/heavier one.

I just moved on from an inexpensive nashbar saddle that was a little too narrow and wearing out after 5,000+ miles. I picked up a Romin Evo on clearance. I'm still dialing back in the position, but I think it will be a winner for me. I hope so at least...

The cheap ones are usually the best. I loved the thirty-cent one that came with mty old Bikesdirect road bike. Like most thing cycling-related, there seems to be too much thought and junk science put into the fancy expensive things. Simple and basic is often the best.

I hated that I had to admit I was a "bull," as per Fizik's logic, but OH...MY...GOD, the Aliante fits me like a friggin glove. In the race to shed weight, saddles can climb pretty high, but the one I have was off of a stock bike, and weighs more than the normal model. I'll ride it until my fat ass bends it in half...which...is kind of like the girlfriend analogy too.

My favorite saddle came off a mountain bike bought from, ahhh nevermind. Fit is more important than looks.
