Eddy Merckx Pro - for 6'-6"+ rider
I'm selling my custom 80s Eddy Merckx road bike in Team Panasonic (1986 Tour de France) colors, made in Belgium, built for a very tall rider. I'm the second owner.
Frame:
Racing geometry, lugged Columbus SLX tubing (best available at the time) with chrome Campagnolo dropouts.
71cm seat tube and 65cm top tube center to center.
42cm chainstays with 1075mm wheelbase.
705mm stack, 430mm reach.
37.5" standover. Weighs 23.8#s
(all dimensions as accurate as possible)
Components:
Shimano 600 (Ultegra) tri-color 7-speed indexed groupset (brakes, levers, derailleurs, shifters, & crankset)
Campagnolo headset, bottom bracket and seat post.
100mm nitto dynamic stem, 42cm modolo speedy bars, and selle italia turbo saddle.
Low mileage wheelset custom built with Mavic open pro rims and Dura Ace front and Ultegra rear hubs with 700x23c Continental four season tires (fits 28s, possibly 30s).
52/42 x 13-28 gearing with 172.5mm crankset.
It has typical component and frame wear for its age and use (nicks and scratches and one rub inside the left chainstay about the size of a quarter) but no mechanical or structural issues and shows well. Stem, tape, tubes, cables and housing, hoods, and saddle were recently replaced and the headset was serviced by my LBS.
I'm 6'-7" (200cm) but at the low end of who it could fit - easily 6'-8", 6'-9" or up if you go with a longer stem or STI. Rides great, but I'm not riding it much any more. Hoping to find it a home soon.
Local is preferred but will consider shipping (from Boston) and offers including for F/F/HS.
$900 cash or paypal/venmo net to me as-shown.
Please ask or DM with questions.

I was gonna say that bikes like these should be marketed on a website that caters to NBA or NFL players.
