Feeling Trainers

I can't help myself anymore. It's time to get back in gear. The garage is ready, Rambo is cued up. When is the super crit? I tee it up with weights on Monday and the following "easy" ride Tues:

warm up for 15 minutes. 1 set: Spin in an easy gear at 110 RPM's for 3 minutes. Rest for 1 minute. Spin at 110 RPM's for 10 minutes. Rest for 2 minutes. Spin at 115 RPM's for 8 minutes. Rest for 2 minutes. Spin at 120 RPM's for 6 minutes. Rest for 2 minutes. Spin at 125 RPM's for 4 minutes. Rest for 2 minutes. Spin at 130 for 2 minutes. Warm down.

This is going to suck.

That made my lungs bleed just thinking about it. Doing the ABD bootcamp now so I know that workout there will suck. I don't want to ever visit this thread again!

OWW, my lungs!

Matt - I lay 2 to 1 odds on you having a massive saddle sore by the time you're done. Your annual infection.

Been doing ftp tests at my new computrainer studio. Training classes start Tuesday. Indoor racing starts Monday.

I managed to make it through most of my cadence work last year without a saddle sore. The key was a combination of both Assos chamois creme and chamois butter. Lots. At the same time. This year, I'm going with the Wayne Simon. The Wayne Simon feels good down there.

I'm usually good on this workout until the 130 rpm. By the end of the year I'll have to cycle through this 2-3 times on a Tuesday or Wednesday. I'll take it over 2x20 at threshold any time.

Yeah, I rub Wayne all over my nether region then use Butt'r directly on the chamois. Thus far that has been a good combo. That is until the Butt'r runs out finally and all I have left is the amazing Wayne.

I think my longest trainer ride last year was about 2:45. I was doing the same thing, basically... assos directly applied, and chamois butter covering every inch of the chamois. It's a little cold and squishy at first, but it works.

It's Monday. I'm stopping at the shop to buy more Wayne. Then it's on.

Let's do this.

I was outside today for a little over an hour at 220 watts. Nice SST ride, a little short to get the kids somewhere. Weights and core tonight and Wednesday. Intensity workout tomorrow.

Well, it's not like I've been working very hard to this point! I just did checked my weight for a little contest. I'm heavier than I've been in nearly a decade.

Has anybody seen where I left my snickers?

I'm right at about 205 and 24% body fat. That may be smaller than you, but it's hardly "small" by bike racing standards. It's unacceptable!

Holy crap! Do people look for ropes to grab onto when you are crossing streets and stuff?

Jees mon ... pull your thing together. Were coming into holiday porker season and you've already got a full head of steam.

I have yet to put the bike on the trainer. I've been riding the mountain bike on the weekends and hitting the gym during the week. Mostly running, elliptical, weights, swimming and even a few spin classes. This should help but i've still got a long way to go but who knows- maybe I won't get dropped on the cross plains ride in may.

Since I probably won't be doing computrainer this year i'll be on the trainer quite a bit and will have to try this wayne/assos combo- where can you get some Wayne around here? I already use the assos.

No ropes needed. They are all fine just as long as they keep their mouths shut, otherwise at 250 pounds right about now, I just might have to bust the dog snot out of them. That's what playing ball does to you. Who wants to be a wimpy receiver or QB? I loved smashing people, so I made sure I was big and stayed big. I wouldn't mind cutting down my size just a little, but there is no way I want to be whippet sized, this way here I can handle my own and protect my friends and family from the goons.

Oh yeah... Lebkuchen, Christstollen, Hanuta's, Duplo's and all that chocolate will make me fast...

... in gaining weight that is.

Those care packages from my mom in Germany have to stop or I'm going to keel over.

outdoors with lights 2x a week right now (sometimes 3) and a 50 miler road ride on a saturday followed by a CX race on a sunday.

I read this article about how to go from the sofa to a 5k in 4 weeks. I got off the sofa...ran 5k (haven't ran in 10 years) and now I have 4 more weeks before I have to try it again.

I've loaned out both the cross bike and the light- to different people. Going to test out the PSIMET computrainer studio tonight. Looking forward to that.

1:10 of high cadence work nearly killed me last night. Amazing how quickly this stuff gets hard.

Did someone mention the spring criterium?

I love the song on this one. I believe it was a skinhead song where I just chopped out the lyrics. Guarantee you won't find that one on ITunes.

Me? 45 gloomy mins on the road today. Unemployment has it's perks.

I survived Halloween without gaining a pound. Then my birthday hit and it was 4 lbs. in 4 days. Oy! Already taken off 1 and will be back to 160 before Turkeyday. Probably 60 miles tomorrow, mostly endurance with some SST.

I seem to have things going the right direction in the weight department. Hopefully I can stick with it.

Did the PSIMET/Computrainer thing last night. Rob's got a pretty sweet set up over there. Huge screen, bright projector, streaming music/movies/etc. I'd highly suggest anybody who may have "trouble" with indoor training give him a buzz. I will be back, for sure!
