Hey, it's winter so, get off your trainer and go see some SKI JUMPING!
Right in Chicago. THAT's RIGHT! In Fox River Grove, IL. This Saturday and Sunday (Sunday being the BIG day).
I did a quick write up on my skiing blog: HERE
Get primed for the upcoming Winter Olympics by watching some future Olympians right in your back yard. This is the 105th year of the event. There is food, beer, bonfires, hot air balloons, music ... it's AWESOME!

You have snow? The rain for the last day washed what little snow was left almost completely away.

We still have snow. The snow pack took a big hit, but grass is 80% covered and I checked one of the local XC ski trails this morning - still covered but needs grooming / more snow. We survived! 31F and flurries today.

I just stumbled on this. Nothing bike related, but absolutely masterful. Had to share.
Senna. Foot cam. Loafers.
I still can't believe he's dead.

Hans Stuck is the most popular under-rated drivers of all time. In my opinion, anyway.
For a pure driving video, though, I've always been a fan of Ari Vantanen at Pikes Peak:

Forget those spectators, Colorchange. Go see a rally. Soon. They're an absolute blast (and there's one that's "fairly" local coming up... soon.

I just came across this video. It may be my new favorite Rally video. Posted because I know there are some other Porsche fans in here:

Interesting Senna footage. No denying that he was fast, but I had no idea how rough he was. I've never seen anyone _pump_ the accelerator like that. With the data logging that today's F1 cars have, he would never get away with it. Jackie Stewart would have a fit. He says that you don't get on the accelerator until you can commit right to the floor without lifting again.
One thing about the heel toe - you've got to be short. There is just no room for my long legs in any road car for me to do that. Perhaps in a gutted out race car, but nothing with an interior.
