Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I was impressed with the number of folks that turned out to start the ride in a steady rain.

Were you yelling at the other Dave M? The one who is dropping an amazing amount of weight? I thought that I saw him roll past my house with the group. Talking to him on Sunday it appears that he is also in a "rebase" mode and is looking more for miles at easy to moderate intensity rather than trying to "sharpen the razor".

And it is a lower case "m": mollusk, not Mollusk. Kind of like "botto", not "Botto". And "umd", not "Umd".
Yup. He's been sitting in and going for the sprints, but he's too skeered of getting dropped by getting into rotation. I keep telling him that being in rotation will only make him fitter and he should go ahead and do it. However, he's a pretty strong sprinter already.

The funniest thing was he, along with three TF kids, marked me and were covering just about everything I did. So, when I attacked for the umteenth time on 441 after Boardman, shrinking Dave wound up following my wheel and got in the three man break I established. His immediate reaction was "uh oh, I f'ed up, I don't want to be here". I yelled at him some more to pull through and help make the break work.

And little "m". Got it.

So much for Kerry D's plan for the Tuesday night ride. Did anybody think that it would stick?

Heh, well, we did neutralize for the 2 flats and 1 mechanical, plus we regrouped after all of the sprint signs. But yes, I got castigated today for Tuesdays animations.

Ok, I'm not reading 50 pages of this nonsense. I have two points:

1) I have no problem with yelling, under the circumstances. Your words on here, however, belie your claim to a lack of ego. Whatever, I honestly don't care.

2) If you were to grab my jersey and throw me aside, that is the stuff assault charges are made of. That is dangerous in itself and you have no legal justification for it on public roads.

Or not. I'm multitasking at work now, and don't have time to read 50 pages of nonsense when the first two were clearly going nowhere quick.

If I see a thread that's three years old, 50 pages long, doesn't get locked, and keeps returning at semi-regular intervals, I might be curious about the nonsense.
