Well, it's been well taken care of, but it does have plenty of dings that aren't visible in the photo.

The non-drive side is the more interesting side of the Pantani replica.

Maybe from a graphics viewpoint, but as @T-Mar says "a picture is worth a thousand words, but only if taken from the driveside".

Nothing to do with graphics. The mechanically interesting thing about Pantani's bike was on the non-drive side.

BTW Jim Merz made me a bike back in the 80's when he was still in Oregon. Got a BG too. It is unfortunate that he is not only retired but unable to ride for balance reasons.

Ok, well it's lost on me and we still want to see the drive side.

Do you still have the Merz?

My Gordon is a 78 that he made when he was in Eugene, and the pics show him going for a ride with Jim and DiNucci leaving from the shop on Everett so he had a pretty good run, still to bad. Glad Jim is still riding and Mark is still building.

Pantani removed his left brifter guts and installed a downtube shifter only on the non-drive side.

My Merz was stolen unfortunately. I thought of that photo because you have the Merz, Gordon and maybe your Strawberry was made by Mark.

I can't picture Pantani needing that big of a seat, but I guess his proportions were kinda odd. The guy seemed completely immune to inclines of any sort.

^It was definitely manufactured in Japan during November 1984 and is therefore a 1985 model. Based on the frame features and colour, it should be a Sport SX.

The angle of the image distorts the size of the saddle. It is, of course, sized for me rather than the Pirate, his whole bike was much smaller. His saddle was a Flite not the TCS on mine. Those embroidered saddles are unbelievably expensive so mine is not accurate with the TCS version.

Bianchi Campione D' Italia

Here's a frame I just picked up (I added the wheels and seat post for pictures). Any help on the year (it came with a Shimano 600 rear brake). The seller told me he got it for $5 at a garage sale. I NEVER get those kind of deals!

Based on the tubeset, colour and decal style, I'd place it 1995-1996. Serial number?

Thanks T-Mar, SN A597449, w/o the drivetrain and brakes, it sure feels light (I guess that would be for all bikes
