RWGPS and ConnectIQ

Has anyone used this? I searched but found not one relevant thread Seems as if it will make loading RWGPS routes to a Garmin less fiddly. Maybe still not as clean as with Wahoo.

The RWGPS app is easy to use.

You pick from recent or pinned routes.

There are other apps that let you download routes by number.

Thanks! I just loaded the app on my 520 and it looks very simple to use. In the past I've always taken a laptop when traveling because I didn't have a way to transfer routes created on an iPad into the 520.

is this part of the RWGPS app? I searched for it and am a bit confused. And RWGPS doesn't seem to have any help about it

It's a Connect IQ app. The newer Garmins let you load apps (sort of like an iPhone).

Okay, I knew you could load apps on the newer devices. I think this is what we are talking about? https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/7...7-e13ffd064d54

IMHO the easiest way to load routes into Garmin (which supports ConnectI Q apps) is to use routeCourse app: https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/b...3-474e97f376ac

Works not only for RWGPS routes but for pretty much everything: "can import route URLs from connect.garmin.com, ridewithgps.com, strava.com, mapmyride.com, mapmyrun.com, gpsies.com, outdooractive.com, bikemap.net, openrunner.com, mtbproject.com, hikingproject.com, trailrunproject.com and gpstracks.nl.... GPX, TCX or KML/KMZ file".

That seems fairly popular. But it's yet another website to have to deal with.

The RWGPS app is simple to use RWGPS routes (your own routes or any routes you pin).

There are other IQ apps that let you download courses from Connect or RWGPS by the number (the number in the URL). The routes have to be public (which can be a problem).

The easiest way to load routes is to generate on the Connect website. The route planner is nearly as easy as RWGPS, once saved the course shows up on the Connect Mobile app and you press Sync.

Great thread.
I geeked over my 520 when I got it but didn't know I could now throw courses at it from my cellphone, was going to get a 530 just for that (because it's a pita having to load from a PC when you're travelling).

A timely thread as I just picked up an Edge Explorer to retire my old eTrex, I was looking all over thinking there's got to be a wireless way to transfer routes.

I just downloaded routeCourse so far so good.

RouteCourse seems hit or miss as currently and on my 1000 the app will not correctly sync with RWGPS to show the most recent routes I'v created.

I'm going to give the RWGPS app a try.
