i want to bring my dog but i dont want to play catch up.

i have a smaller dog that is a terrier mix of some kind. because he has such short legs im afraid the "holding the leash while riding" wont work because i'll soon be dragging him instead, specifically on long rides. does anyone know a way i can bring him with me, without making him work so hard? i dont want to leave him home all the time. maybe a bicycle carriage? or a makeshift one? he is a little larger then a corgi with short legs and a elongated body.

Dog trailers are popular (I saw a guy pulling his dog during the Tour de Bronx last year). If he's small enough, you could get a carrier that fits on your rack (like this one).

The disadvantage of child trailers is the seat/floor. Pet trailers have a completely flat bottom. Child trailers have a seat and a floor. Depending on your dog, a child trailer might work great or not so great.

And depending on your dog and trailer, you may consider getting a harness and strapping him in so he won't jump out to go and chase something...

yeah, im certain i would buy a harness before putting him in it. but i have read how people adapted the trailer so the dog could sit in it. maybe they removed the seat or something. anyways, its a project for later down the road, thanks for your input guys.
