What is this bike?
Found this bike on craigslist and I want to know more about it. I guess its a GT because of the typical GT fame. I am not sure if someone put a shorter fork on it to make it a 26/24 bike or if it came like this. If someone knows what bike this is or anything about it it would be much appreciated.

Looks like the smaller wheel/fork is original, did some quick Photoshop
with another old gt frame and the geometry when I try to match is quite obviously different. Would still like to know what bike it is, thanks

I don't think GT ever did any lugged frames.
Possibly a Shogun. They did funny bikes with Hellenic stays. Seatstay caps and seatpost clamp treatment look similar.

It s a built like that, it is a time trial bike from the late '80s early '90s. Is there an S on the seat stay caps? That must be a huge frame judging from the size if the head tube.
That triple triangle design has been around since the 20s or 30s but never got much attention. To my knowledge Shogun, Nashbar and the GT are the only production bikes to use it.

The picture is pretty low res but the way the stays are attached to the top tube and lugged frame is not typical of GT's construction (tig welded frames) but is a very close match to the Shogun pictured.
The wheel sizes are original, this bicycle was designed for time trials.

Thanks for the responses. I was really busy but read them and ended up getting the bike. I really like it, its just under 19 pounds and its really quick. Took it for a short test today but its freezing outside so it was not very enjoyable lol. Here are a few pictures from today. Also has a flip-flop hub so i put on a spare freewheel I had. Also just curious what these were like new? Were they really cheap or mid level? Just curious about the history and such, information about this bike seems to be pretty scarce.

Shogun would generally be cheaper than an Italian make.
