For Sale Rare Vitus 992 Road Bicycle Bike 48cm Full Campagnolo Chorus Perfect! Saanich, Victoria
Should I? I ride a 53cm leader 722 so might be too small...I've been wanting a geared bike for a long time and it wouldn't kill me to spend $695...
thanks for the input.

Im sure you know that Vitus frames are bonded aluminum frames? My colleague picked one up last year from craigslist, it was a decent bike but FML did that bike flex! The BB just swung from left to right like nothing. Personally I would say dont buy it especially since you ride a 53 and the bike is a 48... its going to be real flexy.

Actually a smaller frame will be stiffer due to the shorter tubes in the main frame section, but an old Vitus will still be very flexible regardless of size. I had a 50cm Vitus back in the late 1970s, and it flexed so badly that it would auto shift whenever I gave it any real effort. It did provide a super cushioned ride on rough roads, however.

In the 80s my son turned his Al Vitus fork into a pretzel. Great wall trophy he kept.

Need some "fashion" advice...

I'm getting some new handle bars, grips, saddle, fenders, basket, etc... to turn my bike into more of a townie/tourist kind of style. I'm going to get a leather seat and leather bar grips. My question is, what would look better with a black frame - Brown leather saddle and grips or black leather?

It's a black 83 Fuji Del Rey

Should I try drops on my TK2? Currently using 31.8 bullhorns. Buddy at the shop will sell me a nice looking FSA bar that he was using on his cross bike. No track use for me, just street.

If you will use hoods too, yes. Otherwise, no. I for one can't go very long on drops without hoods. Anyway, yes. One more for the parts bin.

No hoods unfortunately. Can only run a front brake so the other hood would be dead.

Nope. The other hood can still be used as a hand position, which is its main reason for being there. As long as the lever is spring loaded so that it doesn't flop around, you can use it. I have several of my fg bikes set up this way and they look and work great with this setup.

When you first posted it with Gumwalls I was going to comment, but kept it to myself. Looks tidier all black. If you had gone brown saddle/tape like you were once considering, then gums.
