Aventon Cordoba significant upgrade over kilo TT

So after years and years of riding/racing all sorts of bikes and disciplines I've come to the realization that I want a good affordable track/SS bike to re-charge my love of cycling.

I bought a kilo TT 2 years ago and it's great for what it is...... But I feel something with a better geo/decent components/wheels is smarter than putting real money into this bike.

Not looking to break the bank since this will be bike #5 .

Ideally I'd ride this as I do my road bike, commute/climb/spirited group rides (maybe) and as much long distance as I can handle.

Thanks

Take a look at the Wabi Classic/Special/Lightening
The Classic is $750.

I have, the Wabi's are real nice especially the Lightning but after I spec'ed out what I'd want it's over a grand.

I've heard all the negatives on low end aluminum but that's what I started on, something intriguing about going back to my roots.

What do you mean by "better geo"? There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the geometry of a KiloTT.

A tad to much toe overlap for my liking, I may have aired on smaller is better. It works for short jaunts but the comfort from a geo standpoint on longer rides isn't quite there.

A Cordoba isn't an "upgrade" from a Kio TT, it's just a different budget frame made of a different metal.

Built to built, probably should have been more clear on that.

oh god, then the kilo for sure, a cordobra from city grounds or some other similar company is going to have nothing but runny dog turd parts on it ( cranks, wheels, etc ) the kind of turds where the dog start barking in pain. The kinda turd that could stain concrete. its that bad.

Kilo for sure all the way.

Toe overlap is a non issue.

If you're uncomfortable during longer rides get a bike fit. It'll give you MUCH more improvement than buying a whole new bike.

Here's where it helps to know what you're talking about before giving advice. The older Cordoba "complete" City Grounds sells cobbled together using cheap 6KU crap is nothing like the complete bike currently offered by Aventon, which actually has pretty nice parts on it.

OP - if you're comparing completes, they're probably equal in overall quality.

I would say a better comparison would be the Kilo TT Pro vs the Cordoba. The wheels/hubs on the regular Kilo TT and not as good as the Cordoba.

The Aventon will have much more sw8 fixay street cred, and as a result will probably whip skid better.

Yeah, you're right. I haven't looked at the specs of the basic Kilo TT in quite a while and forgot the stock wheels were kinda crappy.

The wheels, bars, stem, saddle and seat post all seem to be Junky, I did buy MKS pedals and straps from your shop and I run shimano clip less as well. That's why frameset wouldn't be an option.

A kilo tt makes a much better road bike than a cheap aluminum bike, its so much smoother and forgiving. If you were racing on it,I'd say get an aventon cause the kilo tt flexes like crazy.

Just curious what makes the wheels so much better on the cordoba? I saw aventon's "push" wheel set for sale separately (same as the cordoba) and it looked like a good price. Anyone with experience riding them care to share their thoughts?

Kinlin rims & Novatec sealed bearing hubs make a pretty decent wheelset IMO.

Scrod besides frame design what benefit does the mataro have over the cordoba? Different grade aluminum? Welding process? It seems they are packaged identical. I've seen in other posts you think the mataro is a solidly packaged bike now I'm thinking about that one? (If I can still get the color I want)
