I would love to ride any bike ridden by Greg Lemond, Andy Hampsten, Eric Heiden, Stephen Roche, Laurent Fignon, Bernard Hinault (and others from the 1980s) that they rode in a grand tour. Not sure who's bike would fit me, but I'd sure like to give one a spin around the block.

I had the good fortune to ride an old Penny farthing in a race 45 years ago. I would love to repeat the experience. I share with others here a great curiosity about pre-1960's race bikes such as those owned by @iab. Unfortunately they are quite rare in sizes around 60+cm.

Among more "modern" bikes I would like to ride:
Della Santa
Weigel race bike
Nobilette
California Masi
70's DeRosa
DiNucci (This one will happen soon.)

I honesty don't expect this to be much different, if at all different, than my Model B, but I regret not buying this early 50s Maino.

Of course, the ultimate Cinelli, even though it is a bit small.

And finally, the first ever Mario Confente with slotted chain stays.

I want to try one of those tadpole recumbent trikes, the kind with two front wheels and one rear wheel.

Whether it's c&v is highly debatable, but I'd like to try a trek y-foil. Love it or hate it, it's at least different.

This. Not one like it, but the actual Sheldon owned bike. That would be cool

I had a Catrike Speed years ago. It was very fun on downhill runs. It felt like a go-kart.

P.S. My bucket list ride is a Bottecchia. I just bought a frameset for that very reason.

@vintagerando I believe they were only made two years and are hard to come by. They are the like the 24/26 inch BMX of the 80's which are highly sought after. Easy to ride and not be hunched over.

I would also like to ride something that is full drillium and built up with period lightweight parts. Like an old weight wienie racers bike.

I should have grabbed it and passed it on to a more appreciative collector; when I rode by the yard sale later in the day. the bike was gone.

Brent,

If you ever make it out to Minnesota, you'd be welcome to take out my Della Santa or my Weigle.

I picked up the Weigle last summer from a forum member on PL. Reminds me of a Kvale I used to own.

As for a "vintage" bike I'd like to ride at the moment, none come immediately to mind.

Maybe a Peter Johnson or a Marnati just for grins.

Have you seen the cambio corsa equipped Masi at One on One?

Amazing and always nice to say hi to Gene O. at the shop.

To all of you who had an early Ritchey on your list, consider this an invitation. If you're ever in western Colorado look me up. You can ride my 74, made in the garage by Tom himself.

A very generous offer, but it's impolite to rub salt in an open wound. In about 1974 Tom and I were briefly on the same racing team. When I went looking for a new bike he wanted to build it for me. Unfortunately I was convinced by a shop owner that a Bob Jackson custom was the bike for me: The worst bicycle decision of my life. The Jackson was a bike-boom travesty. Ironically, Tom ended up repairing the defective brake bridge for me!

I remember when all the cool kids had Bob Jacksons. Once I bought the Ritchey I sort of stopped paying attention to other bikes for like 20 years.
