Newbie to MTB
I'm mainly a roadie, who also rides some gravel and singletrack on occasion. A friend has given me a 2011 Cube AMS WLS XC bike, that is in good condition and seems to be a pretty decent spec bike (mix of 10s Deore XT and Deore SLX components). It has been sat unused for several years, so will need a bit of love and attention to get it running smoothly. Rear derailleur shifts no problem, front is a bit sticky. It might need new cables, but thinking I'll just convert it to a 1x set-up. Both front and rear suspension are air spring, and I've set the pressure according to my weight recommendations. But I don't know if there is anything else I should be looking at with regards to the suspension. Brakes are in good condition, but will check pads for wear and replace if necessary. Tyres seem in good condition, no rot or anything else that would cause concern. Anything else I need to be aware of with a mountain bike?

Check tires.
Check the chain.
Tilt the saddle back a touch.
I would change the pedals to flat or single sided SPD.
Light oil on the fork stanchions.
Looks good.
