Just asking

Do you ride a steel or plastic bike, that is either DF or recumbent, with rim brakes or disc brakes, that has the chain oiled or waxed, while wearing a helmet or not?

Also currently riding a chair, drinking coffee, but, my bicycle is in the freezer in an attempt to make my water in the water bottles stay cold longer.

Steel is real while seated on an experienced 58cm framed 1986 Pinarello Montello. Brakes, Campy "Deltas", naturally. "Brazilianed" chain. Out of date helmet with a Take-A-Look.

The basic Fred setup...

True story. I currently have a ZipLock quart bag filled with ice cubes, containing four Modolo brake block holders with ancient blocks, sitting in my freezer. According to a 2010 BF thread, this will cause the blocks to shrink enough that I can get them out of the holders without a punch or pounding. It's for a vintage build, and KoolStop replacement blocks are coming in the mail.

The nonsense may now continue...

I use the freezer for that type of thing as well. Putting bearings in the freezer helps pressing them in, for certain applications. I have also put a gun in the freezer when the rear sight adjustment would not turn, after someone cranked it all the way to the end. After the night in the freezer, it turned back out freely.

I would like to formally distance myself from the second "we" in the post above. (Highlight added for clarity.)

that's a copy and paste of the BF "rules." I guess if we are here, we've agreed to them.... On the other hand, this sort of random derangement does liven things up.

No. Titanium requires no paint job that acquires scrapes and scratches when you ride your bike.
