Sharing a saddle between several bikes easily ?

I have 3 bikes, all with slightly different seat post angles and different seat post diameters, and one preferred saddle. Does anybody know of a quick release system that would allow me to quickly take the saddle off a bike and install it on another?

I'm thinking of something with a stub installed on each bike's post where the saddle would be, allowing fore/aft and tilt adjustment for each individual bike, and some kind of universal mounting system that stays mounted on the saddle rails and "clicks" onto the stubs.

Not only would it allow me to use my favorite saddle all the time, but it would be great to quickly take the saddle inside if I have to leave the bike outside under the rain, and to avoid tempting thieves.

Best of luck. My personal experience with rig-ups like this has long ago convinced me that I would be dollars, time, and quality ahead by just buying two more identical saddles.

Now, if all three bikes use the same size seatpost, I might get one easily adjusted Salsa seatpost and move the whole thing between bikes. You would want to mark the post for height adjustment on each bike.

It's not that simple. The saddle in question is a well broken-in Brooks, and I don't ride the other 2 bikes nearly often enough to break in 2 new Brooks to the same level of comfort. Also, I'd like to avoid buying 2 new expensive Brooks saddles and having to maintain them. I'm not a very careful owner, and I have trouble enough remembering to proofide one saddle from time to time, let alone three.

I'd rather keep and maintain this one Brooks saddle and use it on all my bikes.

Maybe buy some used Brooks ?.

In reality, there's no answer to what you want to do except have identical saddles on all the bikes.

I understand you don't want to spend money on two other saddles but Brooks are always on sale somewhere so if it will make your life easier, you may want to break down and invest in two more.

ppc, here's a thought : convert all the seat posts to a plain top type.

Kalloy makes them in all diameters.
the 7/8" top is your stub.. only the lower diameters differ.

I found Brompton's Penta clip to be an excellent stepless saddle clip, light as it's mostly aluminum..

https://www.foldabikes.com/PriceListH...pentaclip.html

But you will have to adjust the angle for each installation.. as the 1 bolt that holds it on
also loosens the angle clamping force..

There was some sort of quick release mechanism that I've seen here on BF. It was on the binder for the seat so you could quickly remove the seat. Do a search and you'll probably find it. You'd need to purchase it for each bike though.

If you're handy, you can make a jig for each bike that would hold the saddle in the proper position for re installation.

Thanks for the responses guys. I can roll my own, it wouldn't be that complicated in fact, but I just didn't want to. I figured I'd go with a commercial solution if it existed. Looks like I'll have to start machining what I want
